koffieTcacao magazine are always on the hunt for the best unique coffee bars and cafes.
This week they discuss King Kong Coffee where you can order a 'Ghodzilla' hot chocolate with chilli
King Kong Coffee is a sole proprietor. The man in charge of King Kong Coffee is owner and barista Marc van de Broek. He loves coffee just as much as the Flemish coffee lovers love him. Marc designed and built his own business. And without question, he has achieved good results.
Lampshades used as magazine racks
Once washingmachine drums and/or plain magazine racks are now used as lampshades. King Kong himself shines bright and green on the wall of King Kong Coffee. Of course, coffee is the biggest gorilla in Marc’s business.
Behind the semi-circular bar KingKongs weapons salute you. A La Marzocco Linea filled from the Anfim Compak grinder. You won’t find any food on the menu, but muffins or cake may be there for the grabbing. If they are, they will be one hundred percent homemade by Queen Kong.
Monkey balls
"Marc looks a lot like a monkey," his wife states, "hence the name King Kong Coffee". In honour of this philosophy you can order a 'Ghodzilla': hot chocolate with chilli. Or a hot chocolate with sixteen Maltesers: 'Monkey Balls'.
